Spring into spring

Finally the UK has welcomed a rare thing we like to call sun, and in spirit of that, it seems a good time for a few changes to things like makeup, clothes, ditching the dark colours and stepping into something a little lighter. I've put together a few of my favourites which I'll be loving this spring as I'm so excited to be getting all the pretty pastels back out again for hopefully a warmer time of year for ol' England!

In the spirit of springtime, I (shock horror!) actually left my room to do this post, where the weather was actually beautiful!

Starting off with makeup, now that the warmer months are rearing their head, you're going to want a more fresh look with subtle makeup that isn't so heavy on your face, but still looks glowy and pretty. For this, I love the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation in the shade Ivory, as it gives a beautiful dewy finish that is gorgeous for this time of year. It is also a pretty low-medium coverage so you won't feel or look cakey. For a light powder for that I use the MAC MSFN in the shade Light as it's so natural but still takes away any gross lookin' shine that comes with a bit of warmer weather (sigh!) For cheeks it's a great time to add a bit of colour to your face, using the Bourjois Bronzing Primer for some light contour or all over the face for a bronzey base before foundation and the Sleek blush in the fucshia shade Flamingo, which looks scary in the pan but used with a light hand gives the perfect flush.
As you've all probably heard about, the Urban Decay Naked 3 pallette recently launched and has the perfect pinky shades, so I usually stay at the colours in the left side for spring. Finally onto lips, I've ditched the vampy berry shades and am reaching a lot more for pretty coral colours. For a light wash of colour I love Benefit Coralista lipgloss which has a tint of coral colour in a tropical smelling gloss, or for a more bright look, try MAC Crosswires lipstick, which is a pinky coral with a hint of shimmer, in love.

For fragrances in the spring, I prefer something a bit more fresh and light than a heavy perfume, so my favourite are the Hollister Body Sprays, particuarly the one in Silver Strand Beach. It's such a lovely one for spring since I think it smells of pineapple and coconut, too bad it's not drinkable!

A slightly random one but I a serious lover of Yankee Candles, but I usually go for the warmer, spicy smelling ones, so now that it's a bit warmer, it's time for some fresh ones! I really love the smell of these two, Fresh Cut Roses and Loves Me, Loves Me Not, which are just fresh floral scents that I will be burning ASAP!

Finally, my fashion has gone lighter in colour pretty quickly, and I've been finding so many cute blouses and tops that I will be wearing soon, including this adorable green flower blouse from would you believe, Primark! I think Primark have really upped their game recently as a bunch of their pieces have really caught my eye, especially this and a pretty baby pink on in the same style! Perfecto.

So there are a few picks that are exciting me for spring, and now that England is brightening up a bit, hopefully it'll cheer us all up a bit, because let's face it, who isn't happier when the sun is out?
