My top 5 MAC lipsticks

Hello everyone and welcome to a post that I've wanted to do for ages, but I haven't really had enough MAC lipsticks until now in order to do a top 5, so now I think it's a good time since I now have 8. This may not seem very many to some people with huge makeup collections, or it may seem too many to people with not a lot of makeup, each to your own! These are my current favourites for the brighter months, so here goes from number 5 to 1!

From left to right: Russian Red, Lustering, Crosswires, Lovelorn, Craving.

5. Craving *amplified finish*

In fifth place is this beautiful and super pigmented shade, Craving, an amplified creme lipstick that lasts a long time on the lips without drying them out, a tough find in a lipstick! It is described as 'a burst of plum' but I would describe it more as a berry shade that can be built up to a darker raspberry colour or worn in one swipe for a more subtle wash of berry colour. It's a perfect shade to wear all year round!

4. Lovelorn *lustre finish*

In fourth place is a gorgeous nude called Lovelorn, which is unusual for me as I'm not one for nudes at all, but this one really stands out to me because it's more of a natural pink rather than a nude 'concealer lips' look! It is a 'lustre finish' so it has a consistency similar to the Revlon Lip Butters, with a sheer wash of colour. So cute for a pretty pop of pink.

3. Crosswires *cremesheen finish*

Next is one I bought in the autumn of last year so I'm pretty excited to get wearing it again for the spring and summer time and it's called Crosswires, which is a gorgeous coral-ly pink shade. It's super pigmented and creamy thanks to the cremesheen finish and looks lovely with Benefit Coralista lipgloss layered on top. Definitely a must for any MAC lipstick lovers!

2. Lustering *lustre finish*

Can you tell I'm quite the fan of lustre lipsticks? They're just so light on the lips and really take no effort to apply - a quick sweep over the lips and you're done! This one is the perfect hot pink shade that starts off rather sheer but you can build it up to achieve the colour you see in the bullet, both of which look gorgeous on! I would say it is a sheer version of MAC's Girl About Town or Impassioned, so if you like them, you'll love this!

1. Russian Red *matte finish*

Finally is the gorgeous Russian Red, which is just a pillar box, true red colour that is very matte looking but isn't too matte feeling or drying, which is a bonus! Being matte, it lasts for ages and ages - I had a Costa drink and sandwich with this on and it was still hanging around by the end! Whether you want to wear it with a few swipes for a really bold look or simply patted in with your finger for a more subtle pop of colour, this is a red for everyone.

Swatches from left to right: Craving, Lovelorn, Crosswires, Lustering, Russian Red.

Hope I've given you some future lip-spiration or a couple of things for your wish list!
